Are you or someone you love on the wrong path?
The Bible Companion Book 8 Isaiah–Daniel helps us see both warning and hope in the messages of the prophets. A simple one-chapter-a-day format lets you engage with Scripture without the pressure of schedules, homework, or heavy reading loads. Short daily readings and thought-provoking questions connect your story to God’s Word. For personal, group, or homeschool Bible study.
The Major Prophets give us perspectives of judgment that challenge our lifestyles and understanding of God. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, and Daniel help us see the Lord at work in dark times. Whether you are suffering the consequences of your own sin or caught in the fallout of the choices of others, The Bible Companion Book 8 points you toward a sovereign God whose power redeems tragedies and transforms them into new beginnings.
Excerpt from the Book
Not defiling themselves means standing firm in their identity as children of God. Their quiet yet public refusal makes a point: They serve Babylon but do not bow to her. They must obey the king but do not accept his patronage. Daniel and his friends distinguish themselves as scholars and statesmen, but the author credits God for their success. “To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning” (Dan. 1:17).
Yahweh’s approval tells us He can work anywhere. Perhaps we feel we have few choices. Though we may be powerless to change things we know are wrong, we can seek creative ways to make God known in our situation. Attitude matters. It’s possible that cooperating with those who make our life difficult rather than opposing them could open doors. God will tell His story. It’s not our responsibility to micromanage events but to live with the wisdom and power that comes from knowing Him.
COMPANION THOUGHT
What special ability has God given you? What life experiences has He permitted that allowed you to develop and use it? How do you give Him credit for your success?
